Stepping hard on the front steps to help knock some of the dirt off his boots, he made his way up to the front porch. Once in the shade, Court took his hat off and hit it against his thigh, allowing dust to fly off the beige felt.

With his hand still holding on to the knob, the door was pulled from his hand. Startled, Court blinked twice, taking in the beauty meeting him at his front door.

“I’m dirty, sweaty and smell like horses.”
